Planning The Route The drive from the UK to Skiathos covers approximately 2,000 miles, depending on your exact starting point and chosen path. However, this can be reduced to around 1,200 road miles by using ferries. The most common route takes you through the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece, with a ferry crossing to reach Skiathos. The buses on Skiathos are the most economical and reliable way to get around Skiathos. They have recently been upgraded and the fleet has increased in number which gives both tourists and locals a convenient way of travelling around the island. There are four bus routes in Skiathos, 1.
